Matt Healy

Matt Healy only took up trail running in recent years. He has had something of a meteoric rise in the gruelling sport. Over the past three and a half years, the 27-year-old, ex-Sharks Academy rugby player has managed to taste real success in a relatively short amount of time.

During this time, his top results include winning the Addo Elephant Trail Run 100 miler, whilst breaking the South African course record, and he currently holds the second fastest time (behind its creator Ryan Sandes) on the 13 Peaks FKT Challenge. His most recent achievements being a top 10 finisher at the Mozart100 by UTMB (106km World Series Event – June 2022) and a top 5 finisher at Nice Cote du Azur by UTMB  (111km World Series Event – September 2022).

Trail running isn’t just something he does, it is his passion; a passion fuelled by the nature of the sport that tests the limits of the body, the mind, and the spirit.
